A workshop by Enrique Gutiérrez on how to apply algorithmic image creation with deep learning techniques for artists and creatives
This workshop is designed for artists and creatives alike who are interested in exploring the use of stable diffusion and generative adversarial networks to enhance their work or creative pipeline. Hosted by: the Artificial Intelligence Research Cell at Sandberg Instituut.
During this workshop, we will be diving into the basics of Stable Diffusion and GANs and how they can be used to create powerful workflows for creative expression. You will have the opportunity to train your own models and see the results in real-time, and compare techniques with others participants. The results of this workshop will be displayed both onsite at (TBD) and online along with the information on how to replicate these results.

Topics Covered:

Stable Diffusion

LoRa and textual embeddings

Introduction to AI and Deep Learning/Neural Networks

Best practices for AI guided artwork generation/co-creation

Deliverables:

Curated gallery of participants images generated with the techniques shown.

Collab notebook accessible for participants

Workshop Instructor:
Enrique A. Gutiérrez (they/them)
Creative Coder & Artist
Amsterdam, Netherlands / Mexico City, Mexico
Enrique Gutierrez is a Mexican-born new media artist whose work involves a multidisciplinary approach to reshape people's perceptions around technology, creativity and post-colonialism. They are currently working in Amsterdam and working in prototyping, new media, and creating technological tools for artistic expression for the last 8 years.

One of their goals is to teach other creatives how to incorporate new media into their existing artistic practices, emphasizing the importance of utilizing technology to create new ways of expression and broaden people's understanding of post-colonialism and ex-colonized cultures. By doing so, they hope to inspire others to explore new and innovative ways to create art that can provoke meaningful discussions and change perceptions.

Their recent work has been focused on creating artwork that addresses discrimination against individuals with native heritage around the world.
