A lecture series on algorithmic hauntologies
The series attempts to theorize an algorithmic hauntology, drawing on Jacques Derrida's notions around the spectral remnants of persistent and recurrent cultural artefacts that are encoded into technologies. If Carl Linnaeus defined the way we have codified nature through the publication of his foundational "Systema Naturae", what would a "Systema Algoritmus" entail?
13.10.2023 An Algorithmic Hauntology
17.11.2023 Haptic Mournings
26.01.2023 Latent Space/Liminal Space

The Systema Algoritmus series is hosted by the Critical Studies department. Senior researcher Flavia Dzodan will give three lectures. The lectures are open to all, but if you're not a Rietveld/Sandberg student please register via criticalstudies@sandberg.nl.

The lectures will begin at 1pm in the Critical Studies studio, which can be found on the first floor of the Sandberg's FedLev building (address: Fred. Roeskestraat 98, Amsterdam). Since it's a lunchtime lecture, feel free to bring your lunch. Snacks and coffee/tea will be provided.
